Managing Categories
Categories help organize blog posts into broad topics. They work alongside tags to create a structured taxonomy.
Creating a Category
Section titled “Creating a Category”- Go to Blog → Categories
- Click Create
- Fill in:
Category Fields
Section titled “Category Fields”| Field | Required | Description |

| Title | Yes | Category name |
| Slug | Yes | URL-friendly identifier |
| Description | No | Internal notes or SEO description |
Using Categories
Section titled “Using Categories”When creating or editing a post, you can assign it to one or more categories. Categories help:
- Group related content
- Create archive pages
- Improve site navigation
- Enhance SEO with topic clusters
Category Structure
Section titled “Category Structure”Unlike menus, categories are flat (no nesting). For hierarchical organization, use a combination of categories and tags.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Create categories that reflect your content strategy
- Use consistent naming (plural vs singular)
- Don’t create too many categories — 5-10 is usually enough
- Every post should have at least one category
- Consider category pages in your navigation design
